Green Race: The Greatest Show In All Of Sports

The Green Race has been happening annually since 1996, and is legendary in the world of whitewater kayaking. There's even a boat named after & specially designed for the race! This is a shot of Jordan Poffenberger, a talented C-1 paddler from the East Coast. Gorilla is considered the crux of the race run, and paddlers are pretty lactic once they get to this point. The banks of the river are crowded with a 1,000 spectators here, so competitors feed off the energy of the crowds to dig a little deeper and finish up the race in style.

Motorbike Commuter in Hanoi

Vietnam is a country of approximately 90 million people, yet in 2013 there were over 37 million registered motorbikes. Compare that to the 2 million cars registered at that time, and the picture of Vietnamese transport becomes very clear. I took this image during my first two days in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, as I became mesmerized by the incessant activity of the motorbikes. If an SUV or pickup is the workhorse of America, the motorbike is the equivalent for the Vietnamese. It's a quick way to zoom down crowded alleyways, transport cargo, or carry a family.
